I’m back, after a month long trip to SE Asia. I’ve spent most of the past two days trying to adjust back to normal life, unpacking, prepping for school. Mentally adjusting. Adjusting gastronomically.
So, I mean, I have lots of opinions I haven’t expressed to anyone, but I am OK. I want to spend this semester writing letters, waking up early, and being a little more deliberate. Like, less things, more ideas, a little more fiction, a new curriculum on life.
I missed the USA, and in particular, the Midwest, a lot. That’s not to say I didn’t have an amazing time, which I did, with two of the most amazing people in my life. I learned a lot, I grew a lot, and I hope that I’ve been humbled as much as I think I have been.
So, after lots of pad thai and fried rice, hundreds of questionable bathrooms, rock hard pillows and cold hostel showers, cheap beer and insane cocktails, pristine and polluted beachs alike, and a lots of different cities and villages, I don’t think I’m ready for classes in 2 days. Oh well.
