What is the poetry of the singularity? Everyone is quite familiar with what poetry is, whether this be Robert Frost, an old psalm, e e cummings, or perhaps the beat of the interstate. What is the singularity? Recently, it’s known as some time point when technology will be able to better itself, become cognizant–I’m not entirely sure and the rhetoric surrounding it sounds absolutely bonkers. However, in Big Bang Theory, the singularity is the very first point in Time. The meeting point of, literally, everything.
My hope for this blog is to describe the arts, humanities, and sciences, as ways of knowing the universe and as ways of describing one another. I plan on posting a mix of things, ranging from recent news, postulations on faith, science rants/ravings/reviews, my favorite pieces of music/art/photography, etc. All with only a little background and a personal touch. I plan to write about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.
Who am I? I’m a student of microbiology at the University of Minnesota. I enjoy poetry, tennis, milkshakes from Annie’s in the summer, and taking a critical look at the universe. I accept the objective truth and believe in the subjective truth. I drink pomegranate raspberry green tea obsessively. I’m probably a hipster-wannabe.
It’s pretty accurate. I love doing my science, but I regularly take liberal arts courses.
I like clouds, and spaghetti. Minneapolis is the perfect happy medium. It is just above average. The women are strong, the men are handsome. Phillips is the perfect hometown. My family is big, and undoubtedly shaped me into the person I am today.
Comment. Read. Troll. I don’t care. Just don’t be a hater.
